The study site of interest is the Tekeze River watershed. The Tekeze River watershed is located in the north central highlands of Ethiopia, Africa within the Tigray and Amhara regions. The Tekeze River is a major river in Ethiopia flowing west, north, then west again, eventually forming the border between Ethiopia and Eritrea. The Tekeze River is a major tributary to the Nile River.
